Privacy notice

Scope

This notice describes the Personal Socials Clipping desktop project and its informational website. The desktop app runs on the operator’s PC. It is not currently offered as a hosted service for other users.

Information processed

The app stores source URLs and source identifiers, downloaded or supplied recordings, extracted audio, transcripts, sampled visual-analysis results, clip timestamps and scores, rendered videos, captions, editing settings and uploaded music. Operational records include queue states, errors, timestamps, destination account identifiers and posting results.

When an account is connected, the app stores the platform identifiers and authorization tokens needed for the configured integration. Depending on the provider, these include access tokens, refresh tokens, granted permissions and expiry information. The app does not ask for social-account passwords. Sign-in occurs with the platform.

Purpose and storage

This information is used to process recordings, produce clips, authenticate the chosen accounts, transfer or publish videos, check outcomes and prevent duplicate posts. Transcription and visual inference run locally. App records and credentials are stored in local project files; credential files are excluded from version control but are not encrypted by the app. Access depends on the PC’s operating-system permissions.

External services

The app contacts source platforms to discover and retrieve accessible recordings, and contacts connected social platforms to authorize accounts, upload configured content and check results. Configured music-discovery features may request catalog or trend data from platform APIs. Selected videos, captions and required account identifiers are sent to the destination when publishing or uploading is enabled. Each platform handles received information under its own policies.

The informational pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising, contact forms or embedded social widgets. The hosting provider may process connection information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the site. Hosting provider: Cloudflare Pages.

Retention

App-managed clip video becomes eligible for cleanup 72 hours after every intended destination confirms successful public posting. Pending, blocked, failed, uncertain or unverified deliveries retain their media. Downloaded source video and extracted audio become eligible only after all dependent clips meet the same condition. Sources with no qualifying clips remain stored. Supplied original files are not deleted by this cleanup.

Metadata, transcripts, captions, analysis, posting identifiers and deduplication records remain until manually removed. Reusable uploaded music files also remain. Credential files remain until removed or replaced; revoking access at the provider does not itself delete local files.

Control, deletion and contact

The operator can pause processing, disable destinations, revoke app access through each provider, and remove local credentials and project data after stopping the app. Deleting local files does not remove posts or copies already held by social platforms; those must be managed with the relevant platform. There is no automatic deletion-request portal.
